Serial number control is crucial to the appliance business, and System Five knows it's important to get a customer deposit and control the inventory. Sales, warranties, and floor planning are all tied to the serial number of each item. With warranties lasting up to 10 years, the issue is more important now than ever. With System Five you can sell an item without the serial number, and take a deposit from the customer. When the warehouse pulls the item from stock, they can enter that serial number, rather than digging for the one chosen by the salesman. System Five also ensures that serial numbered items cannot be sold without a number being entered, either selected from a list or scanned as it leaves the warehouse.

Elite Appliances use System Five

System Five uses a Work Order invoice for work in progress. This can include repairs, but also sales where extra work is required before the item is delivered to the customer. The inventory is allocated so that it cannot be sold to someone else, but the invoice is not posted to the general ledger until the sale is complete.

Contractor sales such as sales for an apartment building or hotel chain are also supported. If you're part of a buying group or other affiliation, there are facilities to handle the billing and accounting appropriately. The same applies to commercial accounts if your customers belong to a group of their own.

System Five works the back end too. You can calculate salesperson's commissions in a very detailed fashion, with single and split commissions, based on profit or total sale, as well as SPIFs. Even if your business doesn't pay commissions, you can still use the salesperson reporting tools to get an accurate view of staff performance.

System Five can also print barcodes and labels, even creating custom codes if your stock doesn't have them already. For deliveries and appointments, there's a built in calendar which can schedule your truck runs. System Five stores all your inventory details, and you can use pop-up sales comments to remind salespeople to onsell optional accessories.
